August 2012
The Jam 4th birthday bash proved one of the best attended Jams ever and produced one of the biggest crop of pages ever - some crackers amongst them. Thanks to all who came down and made it such a fun night! (It was so good we had to take a break in September.)
Don't worry though the Jam will be back on track in October - usual place, 8pm, upstairs in the Lord Edward Pub, Christchurch, Dublin on Thursday 26th October. Bring your drawing implements, paper will be provided. Hope to see you there.
If you can't wait and you're about or willing to take a run down to the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge, Co. Kildare on Saturday 13th October, there'll be a special one off all-ages Jam taking place from 1pm-4pm - drop in any time. Come on down and go wild on the jam down the country (sort of):
For all the comic and self-publishing fans among you Friday 19th October brings a mini culture night with two major book launches of note in the capital city.
At 7.00 pm Gods and Monsters of Tomorrow is being launched in the Little Green Street Gallery. Gods and Monsters of Tomorrow is a book of poetry, short stories and artwork by 22 Irish-based authors and artists with several Jam regulars amongst them - click here for more details.
Then at 8.00pm rock on over to the long awaited launch of Stray Lines taking place upstairs in the Workmans Club, Wellington Quay. Conceived as an opportunity to showcase some of Irelands most exciting and original indie comic creators together in a beautifully designed and produced publication, Stray Lines will make a handsome addition to any graphic novel collection as well as being a go-to source for new original Irish comic book talent - more details here.
If you pre-ordered via Fund-it you get to pick up your book on the night and there'll be additional copies available for new converts.
